We chose to stay at The Fable in late April, even though Unique Homestays have closer properties to London where we live, we love Cornwall and the pictures on the website made it look like a fairytale and we just couldn't resist!

It’s so exciting when you arrive, isn’t it? The Fable really felt like home from the second we stepped in. We adored the vintage farmhouse interior and felt so cosy and looked after with the attention to detail that Unique Homestays provide, such as the fresh flowers and hand-painted welcome card waiting on the kitchen table. We soon discovered the hot tub in the garden which became an afternoon ritual to look forward to at sunset, just before we started preparing dinner. We tried the local little shops and Cornish pasties in St Agnes and had a lovely coastal walk with stunning views of Trevaunance Cove.

On our last day, we ventured out to Helford River and enjoyed the longer but more scenic route that our SatNav took us down. This area of Cornwall is so beautiful, we felt like we were in a magical storybook! On our way back we stumbled upon Trebah Gardens that took us through a sub-tropical landscape to the beach for a coffee in the late afternoon sun.

We were always delighted to return to The Fable, and really, I think we only ventured out so we could experience stepping through that door many times. That evening, we enjoyed cooking and eating by the fireplace, before an early night in the wonderfully comfortable bed.

Thank you for inviting me to share the journey with you here. It has once again filled my heart with the warmest of memories of our most treasured stay at The Fable.
